Bielski was contracted to provide complete smoke residue and paint removal
Los Angeles Central Library, located at 630 West 5th Street was completed in 1926. On the morning of April 29, 1986, an arsonist set fire to the 5th tier of the northeast stack, thus setting in motion one of the most challenging structure fires in the history of the Los Angeles Fire Department. After the fire was extinguished, extensive damage occurred to the building structure and its irreplaceable contents. Bielski was contracted to provide complete smoke residue and paint removal from all stucco and limestone exterior surfaces. This project presented several difficult challenges concerning waste water effluent control, sequencing, accessibility.
